Cross-border project for the development of cycling tourism in the Black Sea Basin - a consortium of six countries, a joint digital platform, cycling routes and educational events for students, entrepreneurs and tourism industry stakeholders.

Context
Cycle tourism is one of the fastest growing segments of the tourism market with high potential for economic added value. According to the European Cyclists' Federation, cycling annually brings the continent over 44 billion euros thanks to 2.3 billion trips of tourist value. The project "Let's Cycle at the Black Sea" aims to unlock this potential in the cross-border region of the Black Sea basin.

Project objectives

Promoting business and entrepreneurship through a common digital platform for participants in the region's tourism sector.

Creation of cycling routes for the development of cycling tourism in the cross-border territories of the Black Sea basin.

Organization of joint educational events (trainings and conferences) based on the CYCLE-FRIENDLY concept with the participation of students and teachers.

Educational events in Odessa
From November 23 to 26 and from November 30 to December 3, 2021, educational events on the basics of tourism were held in the conference halls of the Grand Otrada Resort and the Otrada boutique hotel (Odesa, Frantsuzkyi Boulevard, 17a) for students and employees of Mechnikov ONU, women entrepreneurs, and people with disabilities.

The project's core area is cycling tourism in the region.
Participants of the events: project stakeholders - students and employees of Mechnikov ONU, women entrepreneurs and people with disabilities. Each participant received a certificate and promotional materials.
